Requirements & Skills
- Proven experience as a Surgical Technologist, preferably in specialty surgical areas
- Comprehensive knowledge of surgical instruments, procedures, and sterile techniques
- Ability to maintain strict aseptic technique and handle surgical equipment properly
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary surgical team
- Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification
- Compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing instruments and assembling supplies in accordance with surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons and other personnel during surgical operations by passing instruments and anticipating procedural needs
- Ensure maintenance of a sterile environment throughout all phases of surgery
- Handle specimens and ensure proper labeling and documentation
- Conduct inventory and restock operating room supplies as needed
- Adhere to all safety protocols and report any equipment malfunctions or procedural irregularities promptly
- Collaborate effectively with surgical team members to optimize patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred
- Prior experience in a specialty surgical setting highly valued
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and staff
- Commitment to maintaining patient safety and confidentiality
